Restoration

Felipe's 1977 Honda Civic Autocross Project

"Golden Beast" from Chile

I bought my civic about a month ago and it’s pretty A-ok, and almost rust free, the engine is running with the original tires !!! And also has a lot of good stuff too. The only thing that bothers me is that the console is a little burnt by the Chilean sun and actually you can see the inside sponge.

I love this car because it’s handling is superb, very light, and fast for the year too, my Civic has never been repainted so the paint is pretty bad, but while the engine runs It’s ok. Right now it’s at my friends garage, we are fixing some details on the engine like the blown head gasket and the camshaft but no major problems. It’s almost original except for the new cam that I am putting in and a ported and polished head.

Well I am 19 years old and this is my first car and I am going to have a lot of fun repairing it. I am not in a rush to get the restoration finished. When the restoration is done I will get the engine tuned up. In Chile these cars were very popular and now you can only find parts in the junkyards with a little bit of searching. However we don’t have any of the performance parts that exist in other countries, so if anyone wants to donate or exchange parts for ours civics.
