Hi,
Was the optional fm radio for a 78 civic stereo or just mono using the drivers side speaker?
Does anyone have one of original fm radios or know of something similar that will fit and look similar to stock?
Thanks,
Brian, Burnaby BC

Not even worth the effort to look in my opinion. Keep the stock where it is. What I did was install a JVC cd deck in the glove box, punch a hole for wires out the back, and put in a complete system. You don't even know there's one in there. The beauty of it is that the whole system (deck, 2 6x9's & 8" powered bazooka sub) only cost $400 canadian. So unless you look for it, everything appears stock. I found its the simplest way to go.

Brian, the Fm factory option radio still only had a mono output(drivers speaker)If you are looking for a deck tha will fit into the factory opening, try doing a search for a Blaupunkt "micro chassis" that's what i'm using in my wagon..it's a tape deck with digital display it has 12 fm and 6 am presets stereo output and also a 4 channel "din" plug output(i have a din to rca adapter)to run my amps..i bought mine used for $100.00 cad. from a shop in richmond called Sonic Car Audio(William) you can try him to see if he has any more..
