I happened by this site a couple of weeks ago and think it is absolutely great! My first car back in '85 when I was 16 was a 1977 Honda Civic 1200, hatchback , 4 speed and an AM radio. I think it had floor mats too, ha ha. I drove it for a good 6 years or so nursing it along like some of the questions and problems some of you present. Man, I sure do miss that little yellow package of memories. Here in Sioux Falls SD, there are alot of hot-rodded Hondas and Acuras. All newer I might add. I have yet to see a first gen in a long, long time. The junk yard guys sound funny when I call looking for one! You guys got me going on a mission here! I will find one and will probably have to go to Texas or south somewhere to get in touch with one that hasn't succombed to our road salt, or whatever they put down on the roads that devour our labors of love. I had a guy I met move here from California that put a ton of money into a black and red paint job. That was so cool when I was probably 18 or then. He had his exhaust come out in a "Y" shape in front of the gas tank and had some truck tips, about 2 feet long and 3" in diameter poking out the back for a sort of dual exhaust. Of course I did the same and had a glass pack added in place of the muffler for a bit of a deep tone! Vroom, vroom! I think the pics you guys have are great, you got something to show for your money-a classic! Mine was all yellow, then added a black stipe about 10" wide on the bottom, did some "high lighting" around the hood vents and the raised center part of the hood also in black. Recovered the door panels in black and yellow cloth in a diagonal pattern. And the list goes on......I got the house bought, building a garage this coming spring and need to put a project in it- guess what? a first gen civic! By the way my wife drives a 99 Civic Hatchback, I know, it's newer, has a 100,000 extended warranty, but hey, not everybody's perfect. Maybe I will get some pics of the old one up.

My friend had a yellow civic wagon in High School. We also had a lot of good times in that car.
