HEY GUYS WHATS GOIN ON? I KNOW THIS IS THE SECOND GEN. DISCUSSION BOARD, BUT I NEED SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED IF POSSIBLE. I HAVE A 1983 CIVIC HATCH WITH THE 1300 EJ1/4SPD COMBO. WHAT IS THERE, PERFORMANCE SPEAKING, FOR THIS ENGINE? SHOULD I SCRAP IT AND DROP IN A VTEC? ONE MORE QUESTION WHAT ARE SOME GOOD PAGES FOR THE THIRD GEN. CIVICS?

THANKS

NICK

I hate to break the news to you Nick, but you have a second Gen Civic there. :)

Any engine swap is possible. Some are easy, some are not.
Try the keyword search function, you'll be amazed at what's already been done.

How does a 2.0liter twin carb sound to you?
It's no VTEC, but I'll bet it's easier.:)

Sorry about that, the more i surfed this site the more i realized that mine was second generation, my fault there. im really not familiar with the import scene at all. I have a '67 Malibu but of course cant drive it every day so instead i drive my little civic. The car is pretty cool, but it needs some more horses. The VTEC, for right now, is pretty much a pipe dream. i was wondering if mildly fixing up the 1.3 would be worth the time or if i should go bigger. I saw the weber carb web site and was wondering how well that two barrel carb works.

Thanks

Nick
