Yep.. I'm gonna recore the one you gave me so I can keep driving the car while I get it sorted out. I'll let the rad place do it.. I tried a bit, but I stopped short of ruining anything.. The Rad shop guy is really really good.. he extended the life of my current radiator like almost a year with no issues except now it's got the pinhole leak again. it was the best 10 dollar fix I've found so far :) I'm planning on going to portland for the civic gathering, so i want to get the car sorted out for good..

vulcan you may be right.

Rich, if thats the one i gave you, it was stuck in there something fierce...

WD40 it for a few days and deep socket it off...i tried a plumbing wrench even and it wouldn't budge :) But wd40 for week got my rusted out 75 header off with no problems :)

If it don't feel like it wants to come out then let the raddy place do it. Give it too much welly and you'll fracture the bottom tank. :(

How do you get the thermoswitch out of the rad on a 77 civic (EB2). it's a single thermoswitch to the right of the bottom hose outlet. I'm having the rad recored locally, and I want to get the switch out so they can do whatever rust repair needs to happen on the tanks. Would this be a good time to have the switch hole sealed and go to a better rad temp gauge/relay combo? The switch I currently have is hit and miss sometimes, but it's probably just corrosion on the wiring more than the switch.
