Civic1200 Discussion Board: : Somebody's got to say it.....

I love this site. The layout is easy and functional. The keyword search has helped many times. The people have been great. I love that I can post pictures right from my PC. It's great how it's free and anyone can registar or comment. Keep up the good work with the site, I know I could never do it! I could just complain about it :)

Well put!

Money is tight for me now that I'm in school. So I want to make sure its going for a good cause.

I think schreck has invested a lot of time into his site. I think we can trust the he'll continue to update his site, or put it in good hands if he gets rid of his civics (yeah right:) ). That's why people are making the switch.

This thread needs complete attention by all members!!!

I've been watching this board for almost three years now, and have just started to post activley within the past three months.

I agree whole heartedly with Darrell.

This site has a lot to offer but is, as Darrell put it, outdated.

Things that I have noted:

Everybody!!! I mean everybody has a hard time posting pics. This should be a clear and simple procedure.
We have a link to a knowledge base tree; since it's conception it has not been functional. The same questions get asked over and over and over again because of that. How many times have you heard on a NEW THREAD:
"What kind of motor can I put in here?"
"How can I put a different kind of wheel on my car?"
"How do I post pictures?"
"What is a CVCC?"
These are simple questions that every "Newbee" needs and wants answered, but should not constitute a rediscussion of what is already well known.

On the index page there is a link to members rides and almost all the pictures do not display. What kind of message is this putting out to people who have just purchased their first Civic?

People post questions that go unanswered.

I also agree with farenheight101. Someone is paying the price to keep us happy and informed and that person should be rewarded for his or her efforts. Because of this site my Civic will see new life and many more miles and years of service my check to Richard will be on it's way before summer is out, but then again I also belive and expect that a board administrator needs to be active!!! No offence, but where is Richard??? If I were in his shoes, I would have been the second poster on this thread. I have seen more mud slinging on this site without interjection than any other board that is actively maintained or moderated. Where is the voice of reason?

I will continue to post what and when a can, but like you Darrell, I think that we can do a lot better.

Well the more we donate...the better the site will be. I think donation time is coming around again for 2006...

Hey Kevin. I know, you get what you pay for and I shouldn't complain for a free service. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but site needs to be maintained with better links and pictures that work.

As a new visitor, I would first visit other pages with pictures and be disappointed that almost nothing works. Then I might leave before getting to the discussion board.

It wouldn't take long to delete or update the other pages.

The reason this board and the others work so well is that they do one thing well (kind of like the i-pod). Trying to make one site that will be everything to everybody will only dilute the content. Plus, I don't see anyone making money off of this. I am appreciative of what is available. 10 years ago I would have had to rely on local knowledge. Scary!

I guess I am a little frustrated. :)

Actually I like this discussion board more, but I like 1stgencivic.com ...because its up to date. If this site had current members, links and pictures, I would prefer to keep using it.

Richard I appreciate your service, but I can't tell people to go to a site that almost doesn't exist.

Having a bad day? from the message board you can find all the other sites. http://www.civic77.com if you want pics. 1stgencivic.com if you want tips and tricks. I'm sure we could set up another board, but why?

After refering the other driver to this site, I realized that I just told the guy to go to a site that is almost completly outdated. The pictures, the members and the links don't work or don't exist. The only thing that has value is the discussion board.

This website has a lot to show, but lacks a link to this dicussion board.

I'm asking the page maintainers to please update the pages....at least the links page so new people can be refered to a different website that is current, or used ... so people know they're not alone.

Honestly...I don't want to leave this site, but the other sites have so much more to offer. I think it would be wise if we all abandoned this site unless it does some series catching up!

I think I should've refered the guy to the other site so he'd know he's not alone.
