Standard rings will be fine. I'm sure they are the same as normal EB1 rings, just different pistons.
Interesting dilema. I suspect you'd be able to use those pistons with an EN crank and rods if you run it on Optimax or similar. EN crank, EB2 pistons and EB2 head is a viable combo so I'm guessing RS pistons with RS head (same as EB3 head with big combustion chambers) should be ok on proper fuel. The problem will be getting the pistons off the rods without destroying them.
The only reason to put that head on the EN block would be to get the torque rod mount, otherwise they are the same.
I'd be inclined to just bung the head on the EN block if it's a good bottom end. This should be the easiest and cheapest option giving a good amount of 'khana power. Don't forget ... motorkhana's are supposed to be fun and cheap . So far over the last two and a bit years we've poured five times as much money into 'IT' the motorkhana car in the way of petrol than the car costed
.

First a brief history and sorry about this topic being covered many times before.
During our national meet i mentioned to Adrian that the 4 door 79 civic i was using had a EB1 GL motor this was confirmed by engine number.
Since selling that car and keeping the engine for a 3door i have had two seasons of khanacross and bitumen motorkhana .This car would have been a daily driver but for the last two years has been on the trailer to and from events ,the second last event saw 4 of us competeing in very dusty conditions for a dirt motorkhana and at the end of that event the car was a little smokey (blue) and running on three cylinders.Unfortunately the aussie way of shell be right mate has caught up with me.
Today at a round of the state bitumen motorkhana series the car died with a big lack of anything except blue smoke.
I came home early to strip the head and confirmed and found the following yes the block is EB1-5xxx the pistons are flat top with valve pockets and sit above block height the bore is 70mm.
The head has a "H" and mechanical tach drive.
So my dilema is can i use standard type piston rings ,should i put in a EN crank etc that i already have or put this head on a rebuilt en block.
Any help would be appreciated i was hoping to rebuild as quick as possible for a state round of khanacross in two weeks from today.
