Depends which 1300 tranny. Supposedly the very early ones have a 4.9 diff which it'll pull fine. If it's a later one with a 4.6 diff or one of the other tall ones then no, it won't pull it at all well.

The issue that I have now is that the one tranny I found is a 1300 and the gearing is way too tall with what Ive been told. The 1200 aparently does not have the torq to handle it.

You don't need to change the flywheel or clutch. Your 1200 one will work fine with any EB or EN box.

Ok thanks so far. The tag was off of mine for the serial number but I called the guy that used to own the car and he said as best as he could remember that it came from a 78 wagon. I realy dont want to change clutches as mine has low milage and is a high perf one from Jackson Racing also the flywheel has been lightened and balanced.

hey dave ...
the 1200 and 1300 flywheels are different - but ooooo so slightly .. if you have a 1200 tranny, use the 1200 flywheel and the 1300 flywheel with the 1300 tranny. .. that is once you figure out which tranny it is! .. best of luck with it!

What are the transmission serial numbers, the first digits will help identify its origin.

Ok I have found a tranny from one of the guys on the board but I need to be clear about the dif types of 5 spds. Let me ask the info in number form.
1. Do different 5 spds use differnet clutches and flywheels? For instance a 1200 5 spd versus a 1300 five spd.
2. If there is a dif what is it?
3. How do I tell what my five speed is that I have in now as it was put in the car before It came into my possesion.
Thanks for the help guys.
