I can show you, its not that hard. I didn't do it, it was allready done.

How did you move your column Don? I may look into this and lowering the seat some. The joints are welded :(

The whole cage looks very low too me too. The top of the cage needs to be higher than the top of your helmet when in the driver's seat. I needs to be at least 1-2" higher. You could lower your seat, but that would put you pretty low in the car.

If its welded then its probably too late. One thing that can be done though is move the column over and back its pretty easy to do. Its done in my car.

Don,

The guy who did the welding and myself got in an argument when I pointed that out. I should've backed out but he assured me that it wouldn't be that bad. Do you think the main hoop should come up more or do you think that just the bent arms that go along the a-pillar and the door should be up more AND spread apart more? I noticed the yellow piece you highlighted, is that what you think should be spread?

Finally, the joints are welded, the baseplates just tacked cuz he ran outta gas (maybe that was a good thing!!!). I guess I could grind the welds down and spread the bars to fit a longer bar in there again.

Thanks Don & Adrian

What happened to the height? Charles left extra material on the bottom so that wouldn't happen.
The front part of the cage should have been pushed apart more to get it away from the steering wheel. If you only tacked the cage in the you will only have one piece to replace.

Looks good other than those two things.

Yeah that was one of my main concerns. I tried fitting it out as much as possible but that is what we came out with. I may try a smaller diameter wheel though that is one thing I think SUCKS :(

Hmmm .. it looks to me like that main hoop and the front legs are a LONG way inside the cabin. You're going to be constantly bashing your head on the bar above the door and the main hoop. The front legs are a long way from the a-pillars and it looks like it's rather too close to the wheel for my liking. IMHO I think it's too small.

well, got my cage in, first time doing it... crazy welders didn't help things and i wasn't too sure on the sill bars, but i figure i can add bars if need be. Lemme know what you think of the cage and if you see any weak points.

thanks
