I'm calling my 78 wagon Ferrel. It's so named after a lady friend at work. Keep trying, but we just can't seem to get along!

We often called my old '74 "lab rat", since we did stuff to that car before we did stuff to my friends '77.

My "new" '78 Suburban is known as "the Turd-burban!" She was a freebie, and boy howdy, does she look it! Runs great though.

The Black '01 Jetta is "Eve". Which is the most feminine version of "event horizon". The point where a black hole's gravity crushes and extinguishes all light and pretty things from the universe, forever. :)

Our '78 CiViC is called Boris and he's as gay as they get...

Yeah, I do give names to many of my ex-American cars and still have 2 of them in storage called "Bessie" and "Old A".

Now that I have a '76 Civic recently brought and since I had revived it back alive after a long period aslept...I've come to call it "Phoenix" (named after a myth bird that was dead come alive again).

I call my blue 78 wagon DruBlu. I drive her every day to work, stores, schools, etc.

My other 78 wagon (which I bought for $25.00 for parts) I call Cole because that's what it said on the key. I guess it's short for Charcoal because she died in a dash fire. She's got a lot of good parts on her though.

My 86 Civic Si HB that my daughter drives we call Assex(don't ask why)

My 86 Civic GL 4DR my son drives we call the Cow. It's dark silver with a lot of white bondo spots.

My 77 Civic 1200 doesn't have a name yet. I just bought her for $65.00. She doesn't run so every morning we have to push her out of the shop before customers show up. My husband has a few choice names for that car but...um...I don't think I should post them on this web site!! (he just doesn't appreciate the old Civics like I do!)

My 79 convertible doesn't have a name yet either but maybe the Dragon. She's silver with red undercar lights, dragon seat covers & floor mats, red LED tail pipe and red neon lights under the dash & hood. If anyone can think of a really good name for her let me know.

My 78 civic is usually refered to as "The Civ" possibly because of the holes in the floor.

friends call the white 1200 "The Clown car". I had 6 people in it one time going up to the pass for skiing. Others call it the "$#!+ Box" . I call it the "white car". It really did look like a clown car with all of us clowns getting out of it after a 2 hour drive.

Hey 79cvcc, no,I'm down here in florida with KD BAKER, and Gus of florida. I had called my parts car "the Idaho car" because I know it was from that state. I bought it from the owner back in I think 91. This is when we had the Bull&#@$. law that if you wanted to register your car, from out of state, It costs around $400.00. Then 3-4 years later the state deemed it unconstitutional..........duh...... That was a hell of a way to welcome anybody to our state. Registration outwayed cost of car, which is how I got it....Rick

Mine's got a 'proper' name and a couple of nicknames. I think the most appropriate of the latter is 'Deadly Dinosaur', on account of them being as rare as hen's teeth here in the UK and with the busted exhaust He's got a roar like a Dodge V8!!!

By Stuart (En1aus) (211.28.96.70) on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 - 09:14 am:

I know it's second gen but my '80 2dr is called "lil Blue" or "Qujie" (plate starts with QJE) but we decided that calling it Qujie made it unhappy as that was the name the girl i bought it from called it and she had a few 'issues' with BMW's and Nissan Pulsars either stopping too soon or not stopping soon enough. So it gets called "lil blue"only now.

How many of you have names for your car? Are most of the cars male or female, like I remember my father calling our 66 Rambler Betsy, Ug Does it depend on the looks of your car, or is it how he or she performs. Turbo or road runner would be good for a fast car. How about Hummer, takes a licking and keep on ticking. I would be afraid to give it a name just incase it died somewhere. Getting attached and personal with a 4 wheeled thing is it like a cat or dog you bury in the back yard or pert cemetery, or do you just sell it for parts, So why do we give them names and what do you call yours.
Colin had one he was restoring called "Piglet". It happened to have pig or something like that on the hood when he got it. And Shea calls his “OLD Crusty”
