yea i found the front crome wouldnt line up with the light surrounding ones quite, so i took a small ball hammer and tapped down where the hunges attach to the front so they are sunken in a little, made it look a little more into place. problem i had with the bonnet was it lined up perfectly alond the windscreen side but looked out of place with the drivers guard, so i replaced the guard and now it looks odd with the passengers one, but sourcing EB3 parts here in NZ is getting difficult as they nolonger sit at the wreckers for years, they are 1st in line for crushing due to our stiffening road laws

i had the same set up Glenn, i cut a small snip out where the hinge hung on either side and painted the hinge black, unless ur really looking it was almost un-noitacable

im asking the same question of how to mount a grill from a different perspective.

i have a 76 model civic and have put the 79(eb3) bonnet on.

i used the existing hinges and i have now found that the grill wont fit due to the hinges hitting it. im worried that it may look really silly if i take out a section of the grill

thanks
Glenn

You will need the head light bezels from the '77 or earlier 1200, aswell as the lower chrome strip that fills between the bezels and runs along the lower portion of the grill, the olny problem with the set-up is that the turnsignals on the earlier cars are designed to mount thru the chrome lower strip :( If you can find a set of the early wagon turnsignals (pre '78)they actually mount off of the grill, and doing this it will cover up the holes in the strip :)But you will also want to then change your front bumper to a pre '78 aswell..
