Well the whole point is juxaposition. A harley twin-V with its characteristic sound in classic Civic. I simple figured since the 1st gen civic basically had the equivilant of a motorcycle engine, it might be possible. . .
BTW the Rune is something else, I just looked it up. . .I think Honda Motors next project should be a Transformer. ;-)

Putting a Chevy small block into a civic is one of my dreams.

502 big-block Chevy crate motor sounds good to me...
Actually A V-6 of some sort would likely fit "sorta" and be plenty powerful enough.
Then again, why not grab a 3.8 GN turbo...

Sure put a Harley engine in it and lay newspaper under it whenever its parked to catch the oil drips. For the trouble to mount a motorcycle engine in a car you might as well go all out and use the 1832cc liquid-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder from the new Honda Rune.

Why not just put a Honda Goldwing in, don't spoil such a good thing.

Quick question here on engine swaps. The 1st Gen Civic basically has an engine equilavent to some Harley engines I've browsed in both displacement and in HP. Would it be possible to mount a Harley-Davidson Engine in a 73-74 Civic?
I know the torque ratio is different car/bike, then there is the 2 cyclinder to 4 diff, and the rear drive on a motorcycle vs forward engine etc. Not to mention the engine mount and weight. . .Though some Harley's are upward 900 lbs. Just a wild thought. The Harley Sound in an 70's Civic.
