Nah think bell housing different, but it is possible to put Accord bell housing on Civic box to get it to fit. Here 82-84 Accords with EL had cable clutch and 81 preludes, hope this helps.

yeah, my EG is CVCC. probably fairly similar to EL apart from that. I had already figured out that i would probably need a cable clutch. would it be easiest and cheapest to use on from a 1st gen civic?

EG is that cvcc el 1600? I had EL 1600 in civic, great,u must get one with cable clutch! modify flywheel to allow clearance to front lower crossmember, otherwise easy. cheap. accepts standard d/shafts too.

i have a SJ-F '78 accord with a great 1600cc EG engine and 5spd box. The body is looking for a freshen up though.
so i was thinking of just putting the engine and trans into a nice 1st gen civic.
has anyone tried it with the EG series engine?
what would i need to do to get it all up and going?
