True on the good home idea but that person will never enjoy it like one of us would have, let-a-lone like it was ment to be enjoyed.
At least it is safe though.

Apparently he had a Honda collector/racer offered him $1500.00 (which was the reserve) for the kit. Tried to make an offer of with 2/3 payments but he aleady had his mind set on the collector. At least it went to a good home.

does anyone have a picture of a car with this kit on it ??
I agree with Don that the Mugen kit fits more to the car's age, but the Lambo kit makes a whole different car of the civic I guess !!

this is kindive off topic but what raymon said about the header deal that don did, what is that about i am verry interested
By Don (199.2.139.166) on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 12:26 pm: |
I never said it was NOT the "Last lamb design kit" I just stated that the Lamb copy idea came up before and most people didn't have the money or thought the LAMB kit was too ricey. The Mugen kit is very different but allot of people like the style better. Its about $800 from King and they have molds if you wreck something. Hope that clears things up for you .
By Ramon (207.5.2.130) on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 02:56 pm: |
There is no way anybody would do a quality copy of that for less than $800.00 for every piece. They sold new for $1000.00 and went out of business. Now someone has to make all new molds. Just remember how long it took for Don to get the header deal to fly. Months of effort went into that. I really doubt anybody on this board will even end up with it. I hope I am wrong, I want the license filler and hatch cover. The rest takes away to much from the whole reason these cars look great and turn it into a GEO. Justin I have their add and price sheet if you want a copy.

do we have a rough estimate on duplicating cost justin? I have no idea how much that sort of thing costs. I mean are we looking at $300 per kit, or $1200. Just a very rough estimate $500-$1000? I like the idea of the group possibly doing a group buy of the original, and then copying it and each person purchasing their copy at cost. Then the mold being boxed and stored again in case more copies would be needed in the future.

Thanks for the input Don,but you are wrong about one thing, this is the last brand new kit left from LAMB DESIGN,unless you have one stashed in your garage. All I was doing was giving evryone the oppurtunity to own it. From what I have noticed all of you put alot of time, money, and effort in your cars. This kit would just take it to the next level. I had received alot of emails about selling the kit to one single person, but with it being on ebay everyone has a good chance of owning it. This is my last response to the diss board. One way or another this kit will sell for the money that I want. Good Buy,and Good Luck with your cars, I am very proud to know that all of you are keeping the civic alive as I did 10 years ago.

Its not the only body kit availble. The lamb kit was brought up before and was too "ricey" for allot of people. The mugen style body is still availible any time you want to call King and order it so dont think its the end of the world or anything.

i also would be interested in getting a mould off sum1. howz about if we all went in together and bought the kit then had sum1 like justin have a mould made up and split the costs between every1 ?
this kit is very nice and i will think about buying it outright. only problem is that if sum1 buys it individually there is no assurance that any of us will get it.
i hope that together we can take this opportunity to get a fantastic looking kit for all of us 2 enjoy.
anyone know anything about the weight of this kit ???
also if you feel the weight of the standard bumpers and the indicator/parker lights there is a bit in them, possibly this mayb able to take some weight doing a multijob
just my $0.02

don't let the opportunity to make a mould slip by .
please...
keep all options open for the rest of us WITHOUT any money at the moment.

ok would it be possible to "rent" it from you. if the reserve was not met and you decide to sell it to that rare finds collector could you send it to justin to be copied for some money?/ then you would get the origninal back? im sure some guys on here wouldnt mind poolin together some money to get the thing copied. i dunno i just figured that would be a good option
By Justin (24.69.255.203) on Sunday, October 05, 2003 - 07:18 pm: |
I would have to have the kit here locally to have it copied, but I could have 1 or 100 made, I'm not sure on the price, it would be hard to say without having the piece's in hand I to originally purchased a kit from Lamb, but when I went to pick it up, The did not have the sideskirts or rear filler made up. I decided to wait and go back in three weeks and pick it up...I went back and they were gone
I had the original brochure for the civic and accord kits, If only I had kept it
.. It would be a shame for it to not be remade again..

Yes the reserve is 1500. Since the only company in S.C. is Proglass, and they want me to invest in 20 kits. I am not willing to invest this kind of money. Altough if Justin can get the kit copied maybe some of the guys on the board would like to invest the money and share the expens. I have been offered 1500 for the kite by a rare find collector, that is not the way I would like to see this go down. Everyone has this once in a lifetime oppertunity to own one of the greatest finds of the century. Yes, you can say WOW that sure is alot of money, but were are you going to get another one. This is it the last one, still in the boxes. So,take a stab at the auction if someone does not want to spend the money, get together with some of the guys and get it copied. If Justin is willing to fill you in on the reseve than he must be able to get it copied.I have no use for hte kit, with something this rare dont think i am going to give it away. I have 960 invested in the kit plus shipping from Washington state to South Carolina.Plus 11 years of storage.

how much would it cost to have it copied?
By Justin (207.102.0.6) on Friday, October 03, 2003 - 05:21 pm: |
I can have the kit copied, but the person who wins it, won't want more to I'm betting the reserve is somewhere around $1500.00
By Dave (206.172.136.57) on Friday, October 03, 2003 - 01:56 pm: |
Well I hope whoever gets it can find someone to copy it.

I have decided to sell the kit,it's on ebay item #2435759878. I tried to copy the kit,but I had to prepay for 20 kits. I do not have those kind of funds at my disposel.
