EN 1300 is a bolt up in a civic 1200, apart from having to make a new arm for the top torque rod (which isnt hard),the 1200 axles fit right in and hte trans a direct bolt with no flywheel shaving needed
I have one in a 1976 1200 and the only problem i found was the exhaust heat shield come out at the wrong angle to the radiator.
Plus u can put the 1300 EN electronic dizzy in, makes driving a bliss compared to points

If you go with the EN 1300 I believe you can use your stock 1200 axles, the 1300 tranny, no other mods required.

But I would double check with Justin though. ;)
While your at it you might as well go with a 4x 100 swap just take the frount cv outers from the donor car & redrill the rear drums.

Later:)

Maybe the motor will bolt in but what about the trans & axles? Any other mods I'll need to know about?

Bolt in's
an early Accord 1600.
a 80-83 civic (EN)1300.
an early Prelude 1800.
They're cheap & has more power than the stock motor.

I just bought a 1977 Civic 1200 hatchback last week. The body is in excellent shape but the motor is seized so I'm looking to put something in it. I don?t want to do a lot of changes. What I?d like to know is will a 1500 CVCC engine work without having to do a bunch of stuff to it. I mean will the manual trans bolt up to it? Will the motor mounts work? The axles should work. Anything else I should know? ANY help you guys can give me would be great.

Oh and does anyone know where I can get a motor for it?

Sue
