Yep, there is a bolt behind each air vent and one in the back of the glovebox. You'll also need to take the steering column off as from memory there are a couple of bolts behind it (and it's easier if it's off). You also need to disconnect the heater controls from the heater. There is one cable that controls the room/defrost flap, one for fresh/recirc and one to the heater valve plus there is a pipe on each side from the heater to the windscreen defrost vents. You don't need to pull any knobs off as the heater controls are attached to the dash (unless you unscrew the control assembly from the dash before removing it). You also don't need to remove the gauge cluster, only the speedo cable. Oh yeah, and all the various wires. Everything just unplugs and all the plugs are different shapes and sizes so you can't really get it wrong when putting it back together.

I need help. I tried to pull my dash out with no success. I took out the 10mm bolts 2 on each side of the dash by the door jam. Then I pulled out the quage cluster. Then I pulled out the bolt below the climate controls. Then I pulled the knobs off all the climate controls. I want to pull the dash out of my 77 civic 1200 and put it into my 78 civic 1200. The 78 has rear window defrost if that makes a difference. What am I not doing?
