Ted Thank you for your input! I have cut wagon springs in the front and I was going to start the konis at 3 half turns. I have not yet installed them as I am painting the casings. If this application does not work I am going to try 88-91 civic springs. If that dosent work then I will do coilovers. Any input? Shane

Shane, depends upon where the starting point is. Remember that turning the rod clockwise (from above) will TIGHTEN the rebound by increasing the pressure needed for the oil to pass through the valve. Turning the rod counter-clockwise will LOOSEN the rebound, or make the shock softer. 5 half turns is all it should spin from lock to lock. DO NOT GO BEYOND THIS.
Start soft and then move up as needed. Your driving style and spring rate will dictate what adjustment is needed. If you set the shocks too stiff, the KONI's will not give your springs a chance to do their job. Good luck and don't forget that it's possible to adjust these with the shocks still on the car, although, not very easy.

I think I figured it out. Do you think 3 half turns to the right will be good for my 78 wagon? Shane

Push the plunger all the way down, then while gently pushing down rotate the plunger until you feel it fall into a groove. Once you are in the groove maintian gentle pressure while you turn the plunger. You are actually turning a valve located in the bottom of the shock. It is a touch and feel thing. Try it, it's easy.
