Alison, if you want to keep it original, I have an extra original Honda lighter. They're also still available from the dealer for about $30.

That's clever! I see anti-sway bars in that pic? I'm trying to keep my car as close to stock as possible (whatever others may think of that) including looking for stock options that the particular original owner of my car didn't go for. I did have to break down a get a Schucks/Napa type cigarette lighter just so I could charge my cell phone (very important back up plan with an old car!). thanks guys.

This isn't a very clear pic, But all I did was cut a thin piece of plywood the shape of the pocket insert, cut a big oval for the 6"x9" speaker, used an old grey sweat shirt to cover the plywood...

Thanks guys... just getting around to checking the board.... Justin, those look like just the ticket - how much? How much for S&H? I live in the Seattle area. Do you mean you have both types/sizes of speaker mounts? I'll email you off the board, also.

Another option is get a doorskin and make your own panels, I took the whole side piece out and used them as a template on a doorskin...then made the holes for 6x9 speakers, I got the doorskin at a lumber yard......I found a half sheet that had been damaged....4 bucks...did both sides and the small rear panel also. Just an idea since the back seats are not really used anyway.

I have the rear speaker mounts for the civic, they are made in two ways, one set is for 6x9's and the other for 5 1/4"
either set is $20.00

I'm finally getting around to putting a good stereo set up in my 1200 civic. As all of you know, in the backseat there are plastic pockets on either side that are perfect for speakers, probably woofers. I think I've seen optional speakers and panels in an old Honda catalog I have around. The guy at the stereo shop said it would be much cheaper and better if I could get my hands on some of these old panels than if he made me some custom. He could paint them to match. Anyone??? email me: butlerea (at) u (dot) washington (dot) edu
