Hey guys I bought some "78 CVCC" rear struts for my "78 1200". The guy I bought them from still had some left. I paid about $45.00US
The company is called Allbrake, If memory permits I think he is in Cal., here is his email address.
allbrake@liquidationb2b.us
he also has shocks for the 1200, I have sent a few guys his way with no complaints. He used to be on Ebay and I have bought 3 sets so far. One full set for the 1200, until I found out that someone swapped in the rear end from a CVCC. These are Gabril Brand Gas shocks.

jms, the 76-77 rear cvcc struts bolt on, not slide in like the 78-79 cvcc's, I have a 77 cvcc in my yard and also a 78 and 79.....those struts on e-bay will not work on the 76-77 rear cvcc. I have 2 struts for the 76-77 but they are already spoken for. I finally got mine from a guy in florida, let be cruise the old posts and see if I can find it. it is on the board here someplace.

Are you guys sure, if I remember at least one set (either the front or rears) were the same on both the CVCC and 1200. I matched part numbers once.

ok, the 78 rear struts for the cvcc are nearly impossible to find, I found a lot of places that had the part numbers and said they could get them, they all fell thru....the koni's on ebay, check parts for sale listing, should be able to use on the 78-79 cvcc, the 77 rear struts were different. the wagons I believe had rear springs and shocks, not struts. Yes all four are struts, when you replace your rear struts I would put a set of front springs back there, it does "jack" the rear end up a little and also a little stiffer ride.

There's been a few on e-bay in the past few weeks, I've seen front and rear for about $50 a set. The sedan and hatchback suspensions should be interchangable, but the CVCC/1500 suspensions are different than the 1200 suspensions. The wagon rear suspension is completely different from the CVCC's and 1200's. Have you tried your local Pep Boys or some kind of similar store? Even your local auto parts store should be able to order them.

I'm trying to find some replacement suspension parts for my 78 honda civic cvcc, anyone know of a good dealer (besides the honda dealer who wants to charge $160 per strut). two questions though, are all four of them struts and do the REAR struts for the sedan also fit the hatchback?
