I was wondering if I could Swap the engine AND Tranny from a 84 civic that I found into my 77 civic?!,with as little work as possible!

If not give me an Idea on engine and transmissions from Hondas (either being accords,civics,Crx's) OVER 83! because thats all I can get my hands on, I don't care if I have to use an engine from one car and a tranny from another one,I heard that Trannys over 83 Won't fit or work and engines over 83 won't fit easily and I can only get 84 and thats the earliest but I need a new engine and tranny, THANKS ALOT!!
