Colin,

If possible do you think you could take a close up of the throttle linkage and choke assembly. I got my carbs today :) but I can't figure out the throttle linkage. These things look beautiful :)

Thanx,

Kurt

I took the head off last night.
#2 cylinder exhaust valve has been burned through. I little chip outta the edge. no wonder there was no compression! also the 4th cylinder exhaust vavle has white crusty all over it. That means its burning too hot right? Oh yea...and if I got a valve grind done, what size valves should I use and where should I get em, Honda?

I need help tuning my carbs too...let me know what goes down.

I just bought my Dellorto Carbs...directly from the source - Italy :)

He is going to try and jet them according to my motor and set up but we'll see, I hope you guys are ready for a million Q's if they're not :(

oh yea...and the compression test read :
#1- 185
#2- Not enough pressure to make reading
#3- 185
#4- 140

Hopefully the rings are ok!

By farenheight101 (24.69.255.203) on Sunday, January 25, 2004 - 06:08 pm:

when I had it permitted for 3 days, it ran pretty crappy. The carbs still need fine tuning (need an air-flow meter and a tachometer), the exhaust is bad...mabe even original, and the #2 cylinder leaks into the oil galleys. I'm pulling the head off tonight to check out whats goin on then doing a pressure tested and all new gaskets. Might as well get it ported and polished while its out.

Then I have to get new exhaust, get it inspected, air-cared, insured and BAM!! on the road finally!

No problems not running it?

the vacuum isn't there...
I just plugged off the advance and the brake booster hose is sitting free. I'm gonna try and find a vaccuum pump from a domestic like saturn or something.

I was gonna get a breather filer but haven't gotten around to it...I should pretty quick.

By Kurt (66.183.135.36) on Friday, January 23, 2004 - 07:08 pm:

Colin, what did you do for the vacuum advance, or lack there of?

Also, Lordco sells a chrome filter for about $15 that goes on the valve cover (PCV). It would also match your air filter assembly.

Toyo Proxes T1-S, they're supposed to handle optimal in dry and wet conditions due to it not having any straight groves so it has 100% contact or something.

find it all out at www.toyo.com

so far they've been great!

hello colin i think that the car looks awsome, i am looking forward to seeing it in Kelowna soon. Question though what type of tyres are on it?

By farenheight101 (24.69.255.203) on Thursday, January 15, 2004 - 07:29 pm:

hehe...I didn't install the sleeves yet...its just the top seat, the spring, and the bottom seat sitting in there with a rag sock as a spacer/bushing for the bottom seat on the stock strut perch.

This Toyo size is the smallest they make...if you go to www.toyo.com you can find the whole list of sizes they have.

I like how they stick out...makes is hug the road. The idea with the hub adapters was so I can use the rims I have and like I already said to make the track alittle wider. I plan on autocrossing it in the future but I've heard that hub adapters aren't aloud. oh well...I can get another set of rims if I can't.

Its crazy how much water rooster tails from them being out as far as they are...
in the summer I plan on taking a roadtrip to ontario and pay a visit in person to showcars bodyparts and mabe get a full kit to cover the tires...GT style!! ohhhhh babehh

farenH,
is the susp. adjustable, another guy did that mod and dropped his 3 inches. What sleeves did you use and how tight did they fit over the spring, did you have to cut/mod it? I like the 14s with the low pros, I didnt know they made 45s for 14s, I dont like how they stick out so much though, Id lose those spacers. Just my opinion, you can get any rims in 4x100 too and after all the work???

I know it gets dirty in the rain. Get some mud flaps before a new paint job.

How much better does the EN pull it around over the EB?

By farenheight101 (24.69.255.203) on Thursday, January 15, 2004 - 03:22 pm:

Yea...I plan on coming to the hill climb, don't wanna miss that!

Zippy, I got those filters and housings from Overseas auto. Cost like $150CDN or something. I had to cut the holes in the housing plates though, no biggy if you have a dremmel or something. The phone number is 1-604-879-6288.

Colin,
It's looking great. Is that one of my intake manifolds? I really need a set of air filters. Can you tell me where what type yours are and where I can get some.
Thanks,
Roger
