project is comming along. I'm not too worried about the rag top, right now I'm concentrating on sorting out the drive train... not to mention keeping my 79 semi-road worthy. The roll away roof is from a Fuego, it works and fits well enough but I've never been a fan of sunroofs.

Christoph - wondering how the project is coming along. Did you throw out that rag top and weld in a new roof? Wondering how that rag fits or was it too big for the civic.

Brian in Cowtown,
Thanks for the offer, I'll email you.
Justin,
We should be in Kelowna but we'll be in a hotel though. I couldn't convince Tanya to sleep in a tent again if my life depended on it. RE: roll top, I'm currently sourcing a dent free roof to weld back in (bought myself a TIG welder last year)
I believe all radios were a dealer installed option but most dealers installed them as part of the PDI.
Justin, Kurt & crew, yall going to make it to Knox?

Its a base model like mine. Trunk, no arm rests, no chrome, no rear defrost lines. I believe the trunks came with no radio as well but mine had an aftermarket one in there.

Christoph, nice score The trunk model is the base version, no chrome/no inside armrests.. does the back window have defroster lines? I've seen them without it.. nice sliding rag.. must be from a Renault Fuego
Are you going to kelowna this year for the knox mountain hill climb?

Bryan,
Does your Civic have the chrome lower window trim?
By Bryan (66.32.96.86) on Monday, March 01, 2004 - 06:27 am: |
My civic also has those same door "pulls". Not all civics have the arm rests. My car has a lot of options including air conditioning, but no arm rest.

Happy for you.

Due to the crazy (and expensive) logistics of living in Vancouver BC and storing a dead car in Calgary AB, Adrian (Martin) passed on the responsibility of resurrecting this beautiful 78 1200 to me.
WHAT A GUY! Thank You SOO much Adrian!
It is a bit of an odd civic in that it was the cheapest civic model you could buy at the time (here in Canada, anyway). First of all, it is a trunk model but notice how there is no chrome trim along the bottom of the windows and there are no armrests on the interior door panels. The car has 126000 kilometers on the clock and has never been painted. There is some rust on the rocker seams, the usual rust pockets on each end of the rear lower valence and there is a rather nasty dent in the hood. The motor is very broken and is in a box, all in all though; the car is a very nice starting point for another project. Thanks again Adrian
