I'm not sure, one of the carbs I have has it. It looks to me like a small coil inside the water chamber heats up and expands releasing the choke. Can't say for sure though its just an old Weber I have for parts.
As fo the linkage I used one off the stock carb and made up a piece to mount the cable. There is a thread on the board some where with tons of pics of how people made up their throttle linkage - there is more than one way.

Gah, also forgot..can you use the stock linkages to the Weber carb, or do those have to be replaced (or do they come with the carb)?

32/36 represents the size of each of the 'barrels.'
DGAV - water choke
DGEV - electric choke
DGV - Manual choke
They are all downdraft carbs, the same except for the type of choke.
DCOE is a side draft Weber carb. Better for performance but you need a different intake all together to mount it, not just an adapter plate.

OK, so a couple more questions...
What do the numbers represent? 28/30, 32/36, what's the difference? Where do you find jets and how do you know what size jet to install? What does A signify in the DGAV? Also I've seen reference to a DCOE carb, what's that?

Sweet deal! ya, i cant wait to get the weber on there, so nice to have a project again! Does anybody know if piercemanifolds has spare parts like choke plates, shafts, jets, and other miscellaneous parts?

Pierce has the 32/36 DGAV on sale for 120.00 (only seven units in stock), that plus the adapter plate, and voila! you have easy power gain and no more crappy lines. Straight bolt on upgrade.
Matt, you know that 32/36 pulls pretty darn good as you were in the car with it on when we drove out to Computer Systems West. The 1500 is a bigger engine, so the gains would be even greater.

brian, I put a 28/30 dgv on my 1200 and it made a very noticable difference. Much more solid feeling and responsive. Most people use the 32/36 dgv's, in which you'd see a much bigger difference.
You must keep in mind that jets sizes(jets are changable) are a big deal and crucial in tuning for your engine.
DGEV is the same as DGV(downdraft) except the DGEV has electric choke.
The adapter does replace the plastic peice.
With the weber, you reduce the vacumn hoses to about two with out all those dumb "throttle openers" and such gone.
Hope this helps...

I had a couple of questions about the Weber carb setup...
What kind of performance increase (if any) do you see over the stock carb?
Does this setup require frequent or semi-frequent adjustments?
What is the difference between the DGV and the DGEV?
Does the manifold adapter plate replace that cruddy plastic one that the stock carb sits on?
Is there any simplification of the vaccuum line travesty under the hood by going with the Weber?
The reason I ask is that I have finally escaped the iron grasp of California emissions laws (moved to Colorado). I can register my car as a Collector Auto because it is 25 years old, which exempts me from any smog regulations here. I really hate the 3bbl Keihin piece of shite that's on these CVCCs.

David, the manifold most likely has the two piece adapter plate for use with the CVCC engine. According to Pierce Manifolds, all the CVCC engines from 1975 through 1982 used the same adapter. Whether you use the whole setup, or just the adapter and carb, you should be OK. Dan

David, if you find out that it wont fit, let me know. I have a 1.5 cvcc that needs a carb and manifold. Thanks!

are all the cvcc intake manifolds interchangeable? found a guy selling a weber and modified intake mani(said something about making up for the loss of the third barrel.) that was on an 1.6 accord motor than he put it on his 1.5 civic. i've got an 1.8 accord. just want to make sure it'll fit.
