The body shop ordered them from their supplier (Cross Canada) and I think they were roughly $50CDN each.

By John S. (152.163.253.2) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 09:43 am:

I have to say that it is a beautiful job. I really like the flare treatment, enough to attempt it on my 1200 which needs some rust repair anyway. Where did you get the 2nd Gen pieces and were they very expensive?

By firstgenhondas (67.61.115.15) on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 06:14 pm:

Thanks,
we used the front arches for the front and rears for the rear. They line up really good and the bodyman said it was pretty easy to line up all the lines with the stock lines.

By Jacob (65.113.241.30) on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 10:52 am:

Beautiful car BTW. For the wheel arches, you said that you have '81 and up arches on it. Do you have the '81 front arches on the front, and the '81 rear arches on the back? Or do you have '81 Front arches all around?

Thanks, and spectacular job.

THE WEBSITE FOR SPECTRUM IS WWW.SPECTRUMRUBBER.COM.AU/
THEY CARRY ALMOST EVERY SEAL AND I EVEN ORDERED A COMPLETE SET OF URETHANE SUSPENSION BUSHINGS.$$$$ SHIPPING IS VERY EXPENSIVE, BUT I HAD EVERYTHING SHIPPED OVER WITH NEXT-DAY SERVICE FEDEX FOR ALMOST NOTHING. I GUESS THATS ONE OF THE PERKS FOR WORKING FOR THEM.IN TOTAL THE SEALS AND BUSHINGS PROBABLY COST BETWEEN $650-$750 cdn

By Chris Elder (211.29.136.13) on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 01:19 am:

yeah, whats this spectrum rubber place?
if they're in australia thats good :D
how much did it cost for the lot?

By Dave (206.172.136.92) on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 - 04:38 pm:

When you say you got your seals from spectrum rubber do you mean from Austrailia? What did the door seals cost by the time you got them home here in Ontario? Thanks

By johnny (146.18.173.73) on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 - 03:32 pm:

I will be posting all my pics of the restoration on Randys 1stgencivic.com webpage for anyone that wants to see how the flares were done. If anyone wants to see before pics of it, if you go on Randys webpage and look under "Photos-Canada" it is the yellow "Dave P's '79". You won't believe the difference.

By Dave firstgenhondas (146.18.173.74) on Monday, March 15, 2004 - 05:38 am:

Yes I got new windshield seal and all the other seals for the complete car from spectrum rubber. They fit like factory. As for the wheel arches, they fit really well and the lines all line up with the stock ones, we just cut out the old rusted arches and fit the new ones. The metal work and paint was done by Patricio Auto in Mississauga,Ontario his name is Angelo and is a good friend of mine. There number is 905-820-6551. The complete interior was re-done by Techno-trim in Brampton Ontario, I will get the phone number.I am still finishing off the engine bay , but when its done I will post pics of it. Weber sidedraft carb ,cannon intake manifold, header, msd ignition, and the guy I had bought it from told me that the internals were also built.

Second Gen wheelarches all around? WOW! I thought something looked just "slightly" different.:) I LOVE it, just enough bulged out to look muscular but not "cartoony," If you know what I mean. Beauty, smooth little custom. Fantastic!:)

Shea:)

I am in the Toronto area, and yes, the Accord is also mine, and is an '81 in mint condition from Texas.
The wheels that are on the Civic are 15x6.5 Compomotive ML's with 195-45-15 tires. I had to have the wheels custom made to my offsets and 4x120 bolt pattern in England. I had all the metal work done including new rockers, door and trunk skins, and 81 and up wheel arches welded in to accomodate the 15's. The mirrors are from an early Austin mini and the paint color is Orange-Red from a 2003 Porsche. I also had the complete interior re-done including custom made carpet and headliner.
The front airdam is from Electodyne and I believe they are sold out because this was the last one they had a couple of months ago.
