Home depot carries vinyl weather stripping in the flooring and doors section. you could probably use that, though it wouldn't look very good ;)

Thanks for the replies... so far two ideas: a play-doh like rubbery substance to place in the v-shaped groove and make it expand or a new seal poured from a mold from soom cool guys in Australia... will have to look into these both... I may need some combination of both. As I was telling one of the respondents, my dad has a '77 Sube that needed the door seals replaced. He bought factory original seal replacements still in the bag... and they disintegrated right in his hands when he opened up the package. So much for original!

If you don't mind me asking Brian...what did it cost in the end to get it here...after shipping and all.

Hi
I bought a new door seal for my 78 from Spectrum Rubber in Dunheved, NSW, Australia. They have a mold and make them on demand.
It took about 3 weeks to get to me my mail.
their web site is www.spectrumrubber.com.au
I found it was easier to phone (over email) them.
There phone number from North America is:
011-61-02-9623-5333 (61 is country code, 02 is city code)
Cheers

Hello fellows,
I've posted earlier about needing rear speaker panel covers for a stereo install in my '79 1200... thanks to all who replied and to the folks I bought the supplies from. It looks great now!
New problem: my driverside door leaks at the top when it rains, especially when I'm driving. My interior is immaculate and I don't want it to become infested with mildew. The door seal itself looks great (except one nasty bitten place) but has probably become 'deformed' over the many years and is no longer reliable. I was thinking that I could apply a tape or seal of some kind along the door jam where the seal is currently meeting painted metal. Any ideas or products for sale?
