I can make some parts.
I am a fiberglasser. I also, need that spoiler anyways. But, I am in California. I have experience with fiberglass, carbon, and the molding process.

If had read your post better, i would have found out for myself that they ARE fiber-glass :-P
By Colza (219.88.31.70) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 01:36 am: |
I take it they are fibre-glass? Those wheel arches have flares on them dont they (mugen?)? The front looks like it will be sweet, but where does the back stop being bumper and start being car body? Are '79 1200 bumper mountings going to be the same?
e-mail pending...

Almost forgot.
The bumpers don't have the holes cut into them for the indicators. That was more custom work by me.
SO that means you can install any (or none, your preference)type of indicator and reverse light that you want.

hehehehehehe
yeh I can see where this is going.
First of all, I had to get 2 moulds made, one for the front and one for the back. I'm sure everyone noticed that the rear bumper has also been customised so that is sits right up against the body. ie there is no tray between the bumper and the body. BTW the rear bumper now weighs about 0.5 kg because it is all fibreglass.
Well because it was a custom one off job they didn't come cheap. The front mould cost $450 and the rear $150 to make. This allows me to make as many spoilers as I wish. The front spoiler cost $300 and the rear was about $100. They were done about 2 years ago so it might have gone up a little.
Yes that was a lot to pay for custom 1 off spoilers but I wanted something unique that no one had ever done before. After spending so long to make the 'plugs' I wasn't going to let money stop from going all the way.
If anyone is still interested then send me an email.
Cheers Mick.

Does that mean you have the 1pc mould for the front? Im sure you can see where this is going...

Hey,
I'm in Canberra. The pics were taken out at Cotter. A local road the travels through the hills to the west of Canberra. Very scenic road that I used to ride through a lot on my bike. The raod isn't as good as it used to be but the scenery is still great.
The front spoiler/bumper is a long story. It started as a Mugen front spoiler made to fit the Mugen wheel arch flair race kit. I cut a 77' bumper up so it sits closer to the body, then merged the two together. Glued it all together with bodyfill, craft glue, balsa wood and paint. Got it to a point that it looked really good then took it to a bodykit manufacturer and got them to make a 1pc mould and from that they were able to make a complete 1pc spoiler/bumber. The whole front spoiler/bumper combination weighs about 3kg, 5kg with the custom alloy mounts.
All up it was around 6 months of hard work. I have the original moulds with me and so far the only spoilers that have been made are the ones that are on the car.
The bonnet vents are std RS bonnet vents available from any body kit shop.
BTW thanks for the great feedback. I would like to get it printed in a mag or something like that. Wasn't too sure if it was good enough. I see it in the garage everyday and get complacent.
Thanks again. Mick.

Mick,
Beauty car, man!
Saw your pictorial last night on Randy's site. Gotta say, silver looks really GOOD on these cars, with the right wheels and stuff.
Nice work shooting the pics, too. Really clear, with nice background scenery.
Has anyone told you yet today that YOU ARE A CAR GOD!?!! I bow to your excellence!
Regards,
Shea

Hi All,
I finally got off my but and took the Civic out to somewhere scenic. Got the digital camera out and took a heap of photos.
They turned out pretty good and I'm happy with the Civic turned out in them.
Let me know what everyone thinks
