Damn!!! That car looks almost just like mine (before the body work I had to have done thanks to not just one but two a**holes within a year of each other). My interior looks just like that also! All that and judging from your domain, we are right in each other's back yards (Seattle area). If you ever want to sell, please, please, please give me a holler! My website currently has few pictures but more on the way time permitting (right now, just the old damage pix before the body word was done) : http://home.myuw.net/butlerea/honda/

I talked to a guy at work that used to race these cars and he said they used 1979 honda goldwing pistons. They also used a jackson racing cam and the engine was balanced to 9000rpm. I think he also said that they used a straight pipe header, the ones that comes out the rad support. Another thing that they change that made a huge difference is the carb, but I can't remember which one, 1st gen prelude stuff?

I'm in washington state, after a day of consideration, i've decided to restore and hold of on motor swaps (for now). But i'm very interested in building up the 1200 motor. i've heard you can swap pistons from some honda motor cylces to raise the compression? i've heard that plus some head porting can yeild ~ 115 HP? after that, i'll go for some headers and a 2 in exhaust system.

can some one point me the the right direction to find info about piston swapping and other perfomence modifications i can do the the 1200 motor?

While mine only cost about about $150 equivalent $US it is a little more rusted than that (read ALOT more rusted). And forget classy silver and blue, mine is mustard :'(

score! .. still has good paint.. great price. take care of that little car.. clutch looks pretty easy in the haynes, but it's a tad pricey and you might want to pull the motor to do it.
