Brandon, yes they should fit the 78 cvcc hatchback too, and your right, they are not available anymore, the rears are not either, it took ne almost 3 months to find a pair, so when they pop up on ebay, grab them, allbrake has them up thier quite a bit.

Those "strut caps" were sold by A/T Enginneering, I have a set also, however I believe the only inserts that will fit into the later housings are KYB's. The Konis are too big in diameter, so don't waste your money, or your time getting the wrong parts.

I have a kit that converts the non-openable struts so that you can use inserts. If anyone would like we can see if it would be possible to make copies. Does anyone have the ability, and would people be interested? I can get a pict tomorrow and I will bring them to the Oregon meet to show them off.

Note the difference in the green bits. Clearly the openable strut casings have a hexagonal head, the sealed type are circular. If you jack up one corner of your car you should see you have the circular top type.

That's just the nut that holds the top of the strut onto the top mount.

it is not that easy......you need front struts right? do they bolt on at the bottom or side into a collar?

By felipe casanova (216.72.170.66) on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - 06:52 am:

if my struts are not openable....can i cut the top off and remove the old stuff and put a new insert in?

By bruce (68.156.75.1) on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - 06:30 am:
