And whatever you do, DON'T put any kind of silicone, gasket goo, hylomar etc. on them, just engine oil (or better yet, engine building oil).

Put them in after the crank in the lower position, coat them with motor oil and rotate the thrust washers into position with the flat side facing the block and the groved side facing the crank.
hope this helps.

Hey all!
I'm going to start putting my engine back together in the next couple of weeks. It's a 1977 EB2 1200. The engine was disassembled when I purchased the car, so I'm kind of at a loss as to how some things should go back in. When reinstalling the thrust washers to the crankcase, what do you folks generally use to hold them on? Some type of silicone RTV sealant? Or some other type of material?
Any help you kind people might offer is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Shea
