Hurrah! I just took a little drive with it no oil filter blow out and no oil light coming on.. I hope that's the last I hear from the oil pump for the next 200,000 km
I'm sure it'll just do something else spiteful tomorrow

I may be a little off base here, but wouldn't heat weaken the spring in the pressure relief valve? Did he use alot of heat, or just a little?

Shea.. I took it to the machine shop and he set me straight for a case of guiness.. whew... crisis avoided for now.. he hit it with some heat and the valve popped out.. then he honed out the cylinder and the walls of the valve just enough so it was perfectly free.. he also cleaned up the rotor and got all the old deposits off the pump.. it looks new.. I'll install it today and see if my sick little car will run.. Oh yeah.. don't ruin the little pickup screen, they don't exist anymore..

Richard, drop me an e-mail:

I don't have a whole pump, but I do have some parts (including the relief valve) if those would help you out.
Let me know.

Anyone got one for me.. the pressure relief valve on mine is seized as seized can be. I've got a 77 EB2 1200 motor. The oil pump is the style that is mounted with two bolts on the side of the pump body and two bolts leading to the pickup line. I'm in Victoria, BC Canada.
