I agree with Zippy, make life simple and use JB weld. Gasoline will not affect it.

Clean it up, and then clean it again and put a touch of JB Weld on it an stick it in.

it's probably press fit.. you'll need some heat to expand the aluminum and put the brass thing back in.. unfortunately that means taking the carb off and emptying it of all gas and removing the bits that are not allowed to heat up.. I had to do this to a spraybar on an old vespa.. pain in the ass.. use oxy acetelyne in short bursts and freeze the brass piece prior to installing.

While swapping the engine a while back the fuel hose fell off of the carb. No big deal, except that the bit of brass in the first photo is supposed to be attached to the carb (at point shown in second photo)... hmm.
What do I need to do to fix the brass tube thingo back in the carb?
