This is a pic of an old Fel-Pro 83 Civic I/E gasket for the 1500 CVCC engine. Except for the CVCC aux runner holes, it looks the same as your picture. I'm now using Honda's version of these on my 79 EK1 engine that has the EL conversion. The runner holes are just a little smaller, but they do line up, and I had to trim the lower left corner to get it to fit. It'd be worth a try, if you can't get the non-CVCC gasket. Dan

Hi Ed
Grab a copy of Practical Classics. There's never anything Civic related but you should get details for a place called 'parts for older cars' That's where I get all my stuff from. Just make sure you have your engine number handy. I didn't, ordered a sump gasket for my 5-door '78 and they sent me one for a Triumph Acclaim! Give 'em a try though.
Isn't it great being a UK Civic owner!

Ed, Just a thought, talk to a mechanic in your area and find out where you could have one made or maybe he would be able to make one for you. You should be able to buy a sheet of the gasket material. You then would be able to punch the holes you need for the exhaust. There is such a thing as gasket punches, they are used for just what you are doing. They look like a punch, but at one end there is an opening that looks like a razor blade pipe. Hope this helps.

Crap! They now say they are out of stock and don't expect to have any more for 12 weeks.
Crikey I can't go without my baby for 12 weeks.... it is actually warm and sunny over here! Kurt if you are out there do you think you could have a look at your local yard?
Thanks.

Update!
I was able to find one... thank you for the help everyone and the offer Kurt (I hope you haven't done anything about this yet.)
I poked around in "gaskets" on Ebay.co.uk and was able to find a link to
http://www.webparts.co.uk/BGA/Shop/index.html
which seems to have a vast number of odd Honda gaskets in stock if anyone needs one. Cost £20 but I'm happy to pay.

Thanks guys yeah the boys at my local Honda dealership seem to look at me and my car with a bit of a chuckle and they say they can't source the part either here or from Japan. Yes Kurt it is a dull grey metallic thing -- if you think the EL one will fit and you can find one I would sure appreciate it as the weather has turned nice over here and I need my car back. Let me know what I can pay you.

Thats also the same port spacing as the EL (non CVCC). Someone else needs an EL intake, I can grab the gasket from a local wrecker if you need one, its kind of a metal based looking thing.

Have you tried getting one from Honda?

Ed, I think a gasket from a non-CVCC 1500 should fit. I know Canada got those engines, so they should be able to get one for you, if you don't mind the shipping costs.

I am in the U.K. and recently was having trouble with the exhaust manifold on my '77 Civic (1488 4-dr model)...
I managed to have the manifold itself repaired but the manifold gasket was in bad shape and I can't seem to locate another. The pattern doesn't seem to match any of the replacement ones available from any of the autoparts shops. Here is what it looks like:
Does anyone recognize this or suggest another gasket that might fit? Could a remake one myself?
Thanks for your time.
