ED motors, interference or not?

Civic1200 Discussion Board: : ED motors, interference or not?

Well, not always. I broke the timing belt in that crappy EB2 with auto that I offloaded to you Adrian. Slapped on a new belt and away it went, no problems...

Actually only the EB3 1200s are non-interference. Break a timing belt in an EB1 or 2 and they'll happily bend their valves.

Pretty much what the subject says. I've read that the 1200's are non-interference engines, so when the timing belt breaks, no real carnage ensues. Is it the same for the 1500's/CVCC?
