Thanks Jonathan, Sounds easy enough. BTW do you still have the brown 78 you were parting? If so are the roof moldings removable in one piece. I Have a show here in Michigan next Sunday (representative examples from all car companies and periods). I want my car to at least look complete.
Thanks

Thanks
I already knew that... but you raise a good point... if it is easy to remove, and these are as rare as a quality special x or even special x gauges... then I think I will secure it more securely !!!

Ed , I do believe the plate goes on the inside of your door and you drill 2 holes, 1 is for the tab so the mirror stays in place and the other takes the screw from the mirror to the plate.PS easy to remove so a rivit might be better.

For the 78/79 models, I think you drill a hole and put a rivnut in there. It's sorta like a pop rivet, but with threads on the inside. Takes a special tool, but it's not too spendy. I've got the instructions floating around somewhere.

There are no screws for mirrors on the inside of the 73 to 77 passenger doors.
I don't know about 78 or 79.
These black passenger mirrors were for a Z 600 that never got restored, and I was lucky enough to convince the guy to part with them (for a HUGE price).
They are not JDM... they are N.A. (after)market

I pulled up an old thread as there was nothing more relevant, but the title was appropriate. Does anyone have an answer to my question?

Are the nuts to attach a passenger side mirror already under the door skin for a 78? If not, then what?

WOWEEE!
Getting ONE (left side) in decent shape is enough...Never mind scoring TWO right side ones.
What a lucky score, fellow 'Shwa Civic bro!
Now, everyone bow and repeat after me-"ED IS THE MIRROR GOD....ED IS THE MIRROR GOD..."![]()

Cool beans, I didn't even know that they even made passenger side mirrors in that style. I guess that answers that question
Congrats on the find!

(Bruce... emaili me the shipping info. on the driver's side mirror - thanks)
I would post how much I paid for both of them, but if my wife reads this...... I might have to sign the divorce papers !!!
