David, check for corrosion in the fusebox. If it's getting hot, there's some sort of resistance there, probably in a bad connection. I would NOT drive the car until you find out what's going on. You're risking a fire if you do. Pull out the fuses, clean all the contacts, look for any burnt wires, and go from there.
The speedometer thing I wouldn't worry about too much, when the grease gets cold, it gets thicker, which could cause the needle to stick a little. If it keeps happening even when it's warmer out, then you might want to replace the speedometer.

Does anyone know what to do to keep the fuse box holder from getting too hot and melting. Mine gets so hot with the head lights on that you cant touch it. Also my speedometer once recently went up to 120MPH past the numbers on my 1200 civic when it was a bit cold in the morning. Do I need to get the spedo repaired or what? I was only doing 80MPH,
