Definitely do the bearings and seals at the same time after all they are almost 30 years old.
Would not want to go through all that work to have them screw up after they are re assembled.

DON'T hammer on the castle nuts, it's a guaranteed way to make a mess. Sometimes the joints are very tight. Hammer on the knuckle itself, directly onto the location of the joint. This will pop it out with no damage to any parts.

Do EVERYTHING while you're in there. New rotors, front wheel bearings, calipers, pads, hardware (tractor clips and cleevis pins), fluid, flexible hoses and double check everything before putting it back together. You'll have to take the steering knuckles off the control arm, steering joint and shock. Dont use a ball joint separator, just hammer the ball joints out using the castle nuts on the studs. if there are rips in the cv joints/boots, or you want to change the tranny this would be a good time to do it. It will probably set you back $300-400 depending on the parts you need.

You need a slide hammer. and you will probably have to replace the front bearings at the same time. Stupid design having the rotors bolting on from behind the hub. When you remove the hub/rotor, the outer bearing cage usually pulls out

I need to replace the front rotors and pads on my 77 CVCC HB. Before I start, does anyone have any general tips or issues I should be aware of?
Thanks.
