Sorry guys, I got curious and tugged the passenger seat out of my CVCC to see if I could squeeze the console in between. Low and behold, it fit!! So it is officially off the market.

It was in a parts car I bought. No markings on it as to who made these consles.
It was pretty nasty and a bit mouldy when I got it. I stripped it down last winter and refinished it my self. It wouldn't be to hard to reproduce if you had access to a sheet metal brake.

Hey Randy...Where did You get that aftermarket center console?
By Randy (24.112.121.191) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 09:39 pm: |
They sure are bigger, since I put the smaller momo steering wheel in I have a lot more room to get in and out, other than braining my head on the door opening.
Do you need a turn signal arm, I have a couple of spares if you need one.
The aftermarket console below fits better with the prelude seats than the stock console. The only problem is adjusting the seat from front to back is a little tight. I will fix that while I have it out.

The prelude bolsters are big aren't they. I recently went to sit down and snapped my turn signal arm.

This is what mine looked like last year
Too bad though, the glue came un-done.
I pulled it back out to make some changes and to get it recovered again.
This console it a bit too long for me, it interferes with the gas pedal. I took a closer look and it actually sits past the rear bolt holes for the stock console and sits on top of the rubber bit for the seat belts.
I took it out of the car and I am in the process of making it shorter giving more room up front for the right foot and having it bolt into the stock location in the back.
Today I tried to put the stock console back in and it wont fit at all since I put the Prelude seats in.

How complex is the console? Is it something that can reproduced in fiberglass relatively? I might be interested in a copy if it's possible.

CVCC x 2,
If you're not using it, are you putting it up for sale? I'd be interested.

It is an aftermarket accessory unit designed to fit first gens when they were new. I has a slot for larger stereos, a spot for couple of gauges and goes back to an openable armrest/storage bin. My CVCC had one when I bought it, but the buckets I installed left no room for the armrest. It has been in my attic ever since. I will take a photo of mine and post it here tonight.
