I've thought the same thing, but have never bothered taking measurements. The 1g accord dash would be a great upgrade in my opinion. I've seen/read of at least one person swapping in a 2g civic dash, but I'm not too fussed on those dashes. The 1g prelude dash boards are fugly.

I'd think the Accord and Prelude dashes would be a little wide for it to be a bolt in, but with enough time and fabrication skills, I guess anything is possible. Might be better off swapping in a dash from a different model small car (Chevy Sprint, Geo Metro, Subaru Justy, etc.) that's closer to the width of an early Civic. If you really want a tach in your dash, it would probably be easier to find one in a junkyard than going through the difficulties of a whole new dash, unless you want to have a custom Civic.

So I was looking at some 1 gen accords and preludes and it looks like the dash boards might fit in the civs, what do you think? Lots of available tachos, etc.
