Found them by accident on the web. They list early Honda carbs (on special due to overstock) at $39.00 rebuilt. Go to their website and click on Specials.

Don't know what they have for the cvcc engines, but they look good with a 1 year warranty.

I've got a Weber 32DGV-15C with adapter that I took off a 1200 many years ago. It would certainly need to be rebuilt.

I don't think it was high altitude (some of California is at sea-level after all), but emissions problems that caused them to not sell the 1200 in California except in '73 and '74. Once the CVCC's came out, that's all that were sold there, to the best of my knowledge. California is the strictest state when it comes to vehicle emissions.

Yep, as I recall, standard 1200 was too anaemic for the Californial high altitude.

sd... I doubt very much that you will find any '79 1200 carbs in California. You must be looking at CVCC 1500 carbs, won't work in a 1200.

I know of at least 5 at the junkyards here in San Diego. I think they are 30$.
May go there on Saturday. What other carbs will fit your 79? Maybe 82? Civic?
