2mm over is about as big as you can go before the walls starty getting very thin. With a 1335 crank that takes you up to 1410cc.
The 1500 engine has a cast iron block, non crossflow head, the 1200 is all alloy with crossflow head so they are completely different.

Just curious, I was wondering how much overbore can a 1200 engine block take in? I've seen some posts saying as much as 100-200 cc up. One post said that it can be done close to 1500 but not too much.
Also I know a bit about CVCC models but I have a question to why the factory decide to length the front end by 3" to put a CVCC 1500 engine in there? The block looks the same as I see for a 1200 block...what's the difference between these two?
