Best bet is probably to install a roll bar. You'll get the rigidity back, and a good measure of safety too.

I've see here a few people cutting the roof of their civic to make a rag top convertable. Doesn't this completly destroy the integrity of the "unibody" frame and allow for a lot of flex and twist?
There was a kit car for the civic that did the same chop, but they included a steel frame to reinforce the frame after removing the top.
I'm wondering what methods, if any, you convertable makers have used to reinforce the frame after cutting off the roof.
