The Weber downdraft needs an adapter plate. I believe Pierce Manifolds still carries them and I know Lordco here in BC can order them in as well.
As for side drafts you need to find a manifold like Ted's Cannon intake in the picture below. Not easy but they are around.

Do these carbs need some kind of adapter plate or special manifold, or can you just bolt them on?

From what I have hear the Weber downdraft (32/26) will go through AirCare...jetted properly of course but the side drafts won't. Of course up here in Hope there is no AirCare

Where did you get your hands on that carb and manifold, Ted?

Yep, I'm running a rebuilt Holley low-flow Red with a seperate regulator and filter into a Weber DCOE 40 side draft for great power. Quick acceleration and no delivery problems at all in extreamly hard corning/slaloms.
Just got back from an event up in the mountains at 5000 feet, and didn't experience any noticeable problems with the mixture being too rich.

I am looking for recommendations on carbs/fuel pumps. Any input appreciated!
I am considering suping up my '79 a bit with a Webber carb and a electronic fuel pump, maybe just a holley from Shucks...
Thanks!
