no prob - It's all back together. Took it for a drive but nothing big yet. I'll see how it works over the next few days. BTW the rebuild kit came with a circular rubber gasket for the bottom (I assumed), not the same as the original but it does work.

Sheesh I should read these posts twice before I reply. For some reason I thought you needed a new diaphragm for your fuel pump.

Was it the rubber diaphragm thing inside that was leaking? I have a spare one.

Interesting - appreciate the info - especially before I get started, have to pick up some gasket material when I pick up the kit.
Thanks.

Well my 78 died on me last night. Stalled as I was slowing down for a red light. Fuel was leaking between the carb and intake. I tried everything from checking the plugs (all dry), blowing out the fuel line, priming the carb with gas, checked the fuel pump - everything OK so I had to tow it home It started this morning - barely, and is running fine again, go figure. As it is warming up I'm noticing a little bit of gas seeping up through the bolt (carb to intake). I ordered a rebuild kit and will do it this AM. Any other suggestions?
