Ooooppppssss.Pic 5 is not a cvcc intake its an EN exhaust mani.Pics 6 & 7 are switched.

The 79-81 and 82-83 EL are all 4 port,only the valve sequence is different.(at least the ones I have/had are anyways).
Lazy if your engine is an EL it should be 4 port.
Sorry to contradict my previous post.
I belive the 79-81 EL 4 port head will bolt to the 76-78 EG block but not to the 82-83 EL.The exhaust manifolds will not interchange.
I will post some pics later to help clear this up.

If the timming case is black it is a 82-83 if it is beige it is a 79-81

look at the header, if it's a 2 port the runners will be way under the carb, if its the 4 port the outer two will be right on the outside

A 78 1600 non cvcc would be an EG.The 79-81 EL head/intake/exhaust will fit.The 82-83 will not.Not all non cvcc haeds are 4 port.(only the 82-83)Your 78 cvcc exhaust mani will fit the 78 EG

I thought that all Canadian non-CVCC heads were 4-port, but I could be wrong. There's a company (Impact parts, I think) that still had headers to fit Canadian heads a few months ago, they might still have some. You will need the intake and carb from the non-CVCC head.

Not sure on the later heads fitting the earlier blocks, though.

I have located an 8 valve non-CVCC head from a canadian 78 Accord 1600, but there is no exhaust manifold. Will the exhaust manifold from my 78 Civic CVCC fit and work the same?
Also, there is an 82 Accord 1600 non CVCC engine available, will that head fit on my CVCC block?
I would assume that the 82 Accord would be a 4 port head, where as the 78 Accord would be a 2 port??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
