I saw this car today at the Calgary pick your part.It is a 74.The front bumper has a custom tow bar mounted to it.Nice job cutting it in half!

There's not much left - fenders (starting to show a little rust at bottoms), hood (damaged), radiator, grill, suspension/brakes, mitsubishi fuel pump and box, and I think that's it. If you want pics let me know.

What else does your 78 CVCC have on it that is decent, I have one also and would consider buying some components off of you for spares for mine. Do you have any pics??

Yeah, my rusty 78 CVCC is almost ready for the scrap heap. I believe Normmus will take the windshield and rear hatch, and I should have it hauled away next weekend. Wife says it has to be gone before I leave for training (23 Sept).

I'll pass on the bumper, for the cost of shipping, and fixing it up/re-chroming it I can just get a new one. Thanks anyways though

Hey Canada76civic I live in Calgary as well!!
I wonder if I've ever seen your car?? Mine doesn't come out that much.. I occasionally take it to race city.

Oh kyle? I forget to tell you that the front bumper looks to be solid, but is bit wraped in middle top edge (easily fixable). That can be cleaned, fixed and redo by chrome plating. Let me know if you wanna that one. Rear bumper's already rusted on curved corners anyway.

Kyle, Christoph - yes it does say "1974" on the pillar but I took a look in its VIN tag and body # and it clearly says "SBG-22******" so it's definely a 1976 model like mine.
Yards aren't alway right on model years, even they can make mistakes once in while!

Says 74 on the rear pillar, are those bumpers any good still? did he take one with the back end?

I think that Civic was (is) a 1974. I ran accros it last weekend and grabbed the rebuildable struts and passenger seat. That was the first G1 civic I've seen at pick-yer-scrap in quite a while.

Ahh! Now I see... SpecialX's the one who copped the whole half off that junk car, eh?! I've never met him before. Lucky him to snag the clean panels, oh well...
There's 5 of 1G civics lurking in Edm, really...guess Edm have more than us in Calgary!
David L, are you all done on your rusty car yet?
I'll go check in 1stGenCivic then.
Oh, Dave? Yes - the silver civic in yard WAS in pretty good shape.

Was the whole body mint on that civic at Pick-A-Part?

So you mean this car: http://1stgencivic.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=Canada&action=display&num=1094013329
Yeah SpecialX has been chatting over on 1stGenCivic. I just picked up my 78 1200 from Calgary a few weeks ago and there are at least 5 others here in Edmonton.
YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

Today I found out that it seems I'm not alone in Calgary with a 1G Civic! You see...I went to a local yard to see if I can find "new arrivals" for civics, and guess what? I found a '76 Civic hatchback already hacked in half! Only the front half is left...someone took the whole rear half away!!
That tell me in the only logical way that the rear half must had been a good shell with little or no rust! Damn, and I missed the chance for my car. >:o
At least I see that there are 2 good clean doors still there so maybe I can get them as spares! Even the front grille looks good too. Yeah, the engine and 4 spd (trans GB-1***) are there too as well.
Now I wonder WHO is in Calgary with the other 1G Civic?? (laughing)
