Hey Junior,
I may take you up on the parts thing. What kind of stuff to you have? I definitely need a driver's seat in black. I also might need a rubber seal for the back hatch. If you have a unit with an a/c, I probably will need the controls piece that go in the dash. Of course, I'd more than gladly take anything that you were just planning on throwing away.
So where is the 1200 that is for sale? How much? I really, really want a CVCC 5 speed, but for the right price I'd probably take the other car, just to make sure it doesn't end up in a junk yard. I have this sense that I want to save these little cars from extinction.
This Honda mechanic once told me that he had to crush some 20 old civics, mostly CVCCs, and I about had a heart attack.

Hey Junior!
What I'm trying to get ahold of is a set of the side trim strips for a 1G wagon, EB3 front lower valance and a set of the centre caps for the 13" Honda turbine alloys.
If you can help you can contact me at
kl.shepherd@btopenworld.com
Cheers!

Any chance anybody could pull bits for those of us who live elsewhere in the world?

Rich, congra on the nice little 600. I have a yellow '78 Cvcc. I know a '76 yellow 1200 for sale, but it's an auto. I'm looking for another Cvcc too for a daily driving since my current Cvcc project is going Sohc Vtec turbo. Rich, let me know if you need any 1200 parts or Cvcc parts. I just bought another house and will be moving next month so some parts might end up in the dumpster.

Hey Guys,
Junior is correct it is a 1200 with a 4 speed (even though it has a 5 speed designated on the shifer knob) and in okay shape given that it's probably been sitting out in that yard a while.
I don't get out to the junk yard often, but made a special trip the other day cause I did just get that yellow 77 civic from South Carolina and needed a black drivers seat for it (still do). By the way, Junior, my car is in good shape, mostly, and actually has a/c. Currently it's getting a tune up at Avondale Independent Honda. Anyway, the seats in the civic at the junk yard were tan so I may end up just having mine recovered.
I am in Atlanta, just south of downtown Decatur, not too far from Tucker. By the way, I also just bought the 71 AZ600 that is in the local auto trader. It was out your way in Lithonia/Stone Mountain. It is awesome and by far beats the condition of the civic. The ad is still on line on the auto trader collector website if anybody wants to see a picture.
Malcon, I think the motor was original, but didn't spend much time looking at it cause I was mainly interested in a seat. Sorry.
Jonathan, I probably won't be getting out there anytime soon and do not do most of the work on my cars so I probably wouldn't be able to help you get your parts if I did get there again. Hopefully Junior is able to help.
Rich
PS
Still looking for a decent 78 or 79 Civic CVCC 5 speed (preferably red or silver since my 77 Civic 1200 is yellow as is my 71 600)if anybody knows of one close to Atlanta, please let me know.

Junior, could you pull the gauges? I'm guessing it's the Honda ones, not an aftermarket setup? Also, do you think you would be able to cut out the quarter panels? I'm still in the market for some nice, rust-free ones. Any CVCC's at that yard? I could use a rust-free crossmember too.

Hey Jonathan, it's a 1200 4spd w/ tach. Some surface rusts that all.

Rich, was the Civic a 1200 or a CVCC? I'm looking for a crank pulley for a CVCC with A/C, and haven't found one yet. I was planning on using a 1200 pulley if need be, but the diameter is smaller on the second groove. Was there any rust on the body? Also, would you be able to pick up and ship any parts from that yard? I'm in New Jersey, so a day trip down there is too far.

Hi Rich, you're the winner for the yellow Civic on Ebay from SC, right? Did you get the car? I was the Lakewood Antique Show and stopped by the yard on my way home. Just walked around that all, but I did get a rear strut bar from an MR2. I plan to mod it to fit my CVCC. Front or back, not sure yet. Their prices are really cheap. Where do you live Rich? I'm in Tucker.

Anybody in Atlanta need parts for a 79 Civic? I was recently out at the Pull A Part junk yard and they have one white 79 civic with tan interior and it looks like a/c. The address of the Pull A Part is 1540 Henrico Road. I couldn't find the address on Yahoo, but it is essentially just north of 285 off Moreland Avenue (south of the city). Their phone number is 770-963-8869.
