I am in the process of putting a GM8 tranny((5spd)(off of an 80 1500) onto a 78 accord 1600. we took the flywheel off the 80 also. now that the engine and tranny are bolted together it does not seem like the clutch is working. I did notice the shafts on the two trannys as well as the throwout bearing carriage were different. we used the flywheel and throwout bearing carriage from the 80 tranny. feasably it should be working, but there is no resistance on the clutch lever on the tranny.
