would it matter what kind of carb i got if i were running a pull through turbo set up? i want a side draft that way it doesnt have to make a 90 dagree turn, but what about the size and all? thanks

Do they still sell Cannon intakes anywhere, as to say does a Co. still make them? And what "upgrade" does it do to the car? :)

I have no clue. I actually sold that one to Dana in the spring so I no longer have it :(

whoa that`s nice pics!! but here in chile we don`t have the access to that manifolds, that`s why im asking if someone cut the original intake manifold!

how much cost a cannon intake plus shipping to chile :(

lots of work tho :)

By felipe casanova (200.30.231.18) on Monday, October 04, 2004 - 10:03 pm:

well i ask to my friend and the carb is sidedraft 40/40 so im going to cut the original manifold and adapt-it to fit the sidedraft! no more options here!

maybe anyone do this before?

By lazy (139.130.237.102) on Monday, October 04, 2004 - 07:06 pm:

I know basically nothing about carbs, but wouldn't a 40/40 be too large? A downdraft would be the easiest way to go - you could either fab up a custom adapter plate, modify the manifold, or buy an adapter.

I think the adapters and even new dual sidedraft manifolds are available new, but they may be a bit pricey. I have an adapter to suit a 32/36 Weber I'd be willing to sell for the right price.

i also have a question about carbs there`s anyway to use the standard intake manifold with a weber 40/40 sidedraft or downdraft? maybe do some cutting?

ok :)

sidedraft carb/cam/headers - start with the simple things first .. i wouldn't spend the $$ on porting and polishing unless you are gonna get high comp pistons ..

but if you want a basically stock looking motor (just have to change one mount) i'd swap in an EN1 (80-83 civic) - it has the crank and rods you'd want if you were going to stroke out a 1200 - plus more horse, and takes a lot more punishment - then add the sidedraft/cam/headers ..

if you keep your pre 80 5 speed tranny, be sure to use the pre 80 flywheel and clutch ass. ..

this would be the most cost effective way to get some juice ..

Ok.. So far I'm gonna get a better Cam , Head is gonna get port&polished plus shaved.Pistons...dunno where to get them...and at a reasonable price...Cuz I don't want to waste SO Much $ on this engine when I could just do an engine swap and it's much easier to find "Pieces/parts" for...You know? :)

By Jonathan (68.193.6.173) on Saturday, October 02, 2004 - 11:33 pm:

Well, what else are you planning on doing to the engine? Performance cam? Higher compression pistons? Just by throwing on a carburetor won't help you get tremendous power gains, but the more modifications you're willing to do to compliment the better carburetion, the better response you're going to see out of the engine. I guess the two questions that I should have asked first are what is your budget, and how much time/effort are you willing to invest in getting more power?

By DaRk (66.50.181.139) on Saturday, October 02, 2004 - 11:23 pm:

Yea, but how is that? I mean like how does it work? How is it different? A little more? than stock? I want alot more :)

By Jonathan (68.193.6.173) on Saturday, October 02, 2004 - 11:17 pm:

I know that dual sidedraft intake manifolds are still available for 1200's, if you're looking for a little more power, and a little different.

By DaRk (66.50.181.139) on Saturday, October 02, 2004 - 10:15 pm:

Header huh? I've been thinking of making one, How thick should the tubing be? :)

By DaRk (66.50.181.139) on Saturday, October 02, 2004 - 10:12 pm:

hummm.... Great :-D Thanks Guys... ;-)But I have a '79 1200 EB3 not CvCC.... :-S

By Ted (63.224.195.169) on Friday, October 01, 2004 - 03:23 pm:

The Weber DGV 32/36 is a great street carb to bolt on. You will feel the power gain once it's jetted and adjusted right. Now all you need is a header...

You can order new DGV's with a manual choke, electric choke or water temp choke. I like the manual because you can use the civic's choke cable.

By bruce (68.156.75.3) on Friday, October 01, 2004 - 12:21 pm:

weber 32/36 is the easiest to do....when you order the kit (K724)http://www.carburetion.com/weber/weber.htm you get everything you need, you just need to take the studs out of your intake manifold and bolt the adapter plate on....then the carb. you may have to do a little "engineering" for your throttle and choke but it is pretty easy.

Hi guys I know You guys could help me on this.Well...I'm looking to buy a new carb. as You could see,But Some ppl tell me Weber some Holley , Which is better for performance as to say street racing? and if it's possible measurements of each.To a stock manifold.Do I need a "spacer" to connect it? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance. :)
