My insurance company almost didn't insure my car because they said it was an invalid vin #....
then they said that I had to do an appraisal, and a safety inspection before they would insure it.
the appraisal guy had no problem, but the MTO said they couldn't accept the safety certificate because of an invalid vin... so I had to show them the original title !!
classic cars are so much fun !

Yea I think so too, eventhough they say "Classic Cars" they still ask for 17 #'s

In '80 they changed to a 17 digit VIN, the web sites you're looking at probably are expecting you to search for parts for newer cars.
