anyone running webber carb like mine? I'd love to find out what these will do to a 1500 CVCC engine. I got them a while back from Ebay, I'm just waiting for my car to expire for the California Emessions requirements and then I'll be installing this.

I'm still plagued with this weird voodoo posessing Betsy.. I believe that there's something up with the accelerator pump, because the car dies or starts to cut in and out or surge.. if you kill it and pump the pedal, it behaves fine again. It is seeming to happen more often with the colder weather. It also seems to be sucking down the gas (I'm getting about 21 mpg). Maybe I'm getting an air bubble in the union or something? So I went to Lordco and asked about a carb rebuild kit, since I'm almost sure it's due even if it's not the problem.. he wanted to know the carb part number (I'm guessing from Honda). I can't see any numbers on the carb, anyone know what the part number of the carb is? It's a 1977 Civic 1200 EB2 with a keihin carb (non catalyzed, non california, low altidtude).. I don't have much money.. I'd love to buy a new, fatter carb and manifold, but that's gonna be at least a few hundered bucks and probably money I could spend better ona CRX motor that I have planned when the money starts to come in :D Has anyone experienced this with their car? I'm pretty stumped.

Seems completely random.. usually when hard accelerating, but not always.. just sort of like it's running out of gas.. every once in a while at low RPM the car will just stall. One night I lost my headlights and replaced the voltage regulator fuse and the headlight fuse went, and when I replaced them, it stopped stalling for a few days, but it still happens every now and then - it starts to idle rough and then just stalls. the timing is good I replaced the cap rotor wires and plugs when I bought the car. The points are a bit black, but not deformed. at really high speeds (120-140km/h) the car cuts out for half a second and then continues on it's way. I have new CV joints and the tranny just has bad synchros, but it doesn't feel like mechanical surging, just gas or ignition. I may pick up some points and a condensor while I'm at it. Such a weird problem.. I'm guessing it's crap in the jets, but I'm not sure. Seems to happen most when the car is running cold (on the temp gauge). Is that enough info?

When you say surging, is this when going straight, up/down hills, around corners, accelerating, decelerating or is it completely random?

I'm going to rebuild the carb on my 77 civic 1200 to (hopefully) stop the car from surging every now and then.. I live in Victoria.. are there any good places to get carb kits? lordco, napa or auto plus? or is this special order stuff? I've got a keihin original carb.. I'm guessing all the info I need is in the haynes.. but does anyone have some tips on how far to go in the rebuild or the order in which I should proceed?
